The Tactile Horizon

Earth, Wood and Sky

My journey into painting began five years ago as a sudden, unstoppable need for raw creative expression. After more than two decades in a highly structured corporate career, the canvas—or rather, the wood panel—became my space of absolute freedom. I paint what moves me: the untamed poetry of natural landscapes and the endless drama of the sky. Deeply inspired by the misty, emotional depths of Tonalism and the fleeting light of Impressionism, my work channels the spirits of J.M.W. Turner and Claude Monet. My process is deeply physical, instinctive, and untraditional. I rarely use a brush. Instead, I manipulate oil and pigment directly with my fingers and pieces of paper, pressing and smudging the paint onto heavy wood panels. By working the material with my bare hands, I feel the texture of the storm, the warmth of the light, and the weight of the mist. It is an intimate dialogue between human emotion and raw wood grain. When I am not painting in absolute silence, I drive the rhythm as a drummer in a progressive rock band.

For me, art is about energy, texture, and atmosphere—the place where structure dissolves into the infinite sky.
